Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church was formerly the Oriental Mission of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. When Rev. John Tusiri and his family immigrated to Albuquerque in 1976, he saw the needs among the Far East refugees in the area. He and his family began to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of those refugees who spoke Thai and Chinese. The First Baptist Church ordained him as the pastor of Oriental Mission. He served faithfully for 15 years, from 1978 to 1993. The Oriental Mission continued to evolve and her congregation changed. After Rev. Tusiri’s retirement, the coworkers worked to help the mission grow and mature. At the end of 1997, with blessings from the First Baptist Church, Oriental Mission became the Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church.

Mission Statement

Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church is a worshiping church, with believers striving to live a godly and holy life. It is characterized by mature care groups with a firm commitment to Missions and Evangelistic outreach to the community.

Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church pursues the vision of making disciples of its members by equipping them:

To know and worship the God of Glory
To enable one another to care and grow
To train and involve people in ministry
To speak and live out the truth of the Gospel
To recruit and send laborers into the world
